Remember the last time you took a spin on the #joyland carousel? Our team helped design the carousel’s new home at the Botanica Carousel Gardens and it's making them feel like kids again. We can’t wait to start making new memories when #carouselgardens opens in September! Watch the video to learn more about its past and future – and be sure to share your #joylandcarousel memories and pics in the comments! #EngineeringSuccess

The Carousel Gardens is coming to Botanica in September 2019!🎠 The Carousel (fondly referred to as the Joyland Carousel) was donated to Botanica in 2014 by the current owner of Joyland, Margaret Nelson Spear. Since the time of the donation, numerous groups, individuals, businesses and artists have come together to start the restoration project and bring the carousel back to life for the community to ride once again in its new home at Botanica!

In addition to it being important to our community, it is important to know that this particular carousel is known to be the only one of its kind in existence. It is believed that the Joyland 40-foot, 36-horse, 2-chariot Allan Herschell carousel is the only one remaining in existence.

We have selected WDM Architects to design the Botanica Carousel Pavilion. The 9,000 sq. foot Carousel Pavilion and surrounding gardens will be located west of Downing Children’s Garden. The carousel will be open year-round, as the building will be designed to be enclosed and heated or open-air during nice weather. From time-to-time pieces of Joyland memorabilia will be on display in the Pavilion.
